Welcome!

Welcome to our wedding blog!

This is where you'll find important information about the wedding itself, travel, accommodations, and more. Plus, we (usually Elisa) write up entries on how the planning is going.

Be sure to check out the "Guest Information" tab for travel tips and discounts, the "Maps" section when you're planning where to stay and the "Events" tab when you're planning what dates to travel on.

Don't forget to check back periodically for updates as we finalize the details!

Officiant

Introducing our officiant!  Direct from Texas, Charles' cousin on his dad's side, Michelle Morrow is ordained and will be performing our ceremony.  I am glad we can have her pretty face rather than a stranger in our wedding pictures :)

Song

There is not a whole lot of wedding planning going on right now.  We did attend a Crate and Barrel registry event with Melissa and David last weekend.  They gave us some snacks and drinks and we went before the store opened so it was quiet and relaxing. We also got a couple more free for registering presents, Anolon Advanced Bronze 1qt. saucepan, Circulon Contempo 2 cup petite saucepan and Set of 4 Knork Matte forks. It is nice to get presents in the mail. We also signed our first contract.  We booked our photographer, Aaron Bernard of LiquidLightImages, the same photographer who did our engagement pictures.

We selected our first dance song a while ago, but since we haven't told everyone, here it is: Can't Take My Eyes Off of You by Frankie Vallie and the 4 Seasons.

Men's attire

Since I have had multiple question about what the groom and groomsmen will be wearing, I thought I would post a picture. To see the rest of the pictures of this wedding, check out the gallery on Ruffled.

I think the groomsmen will wear something similar to what is pictured below, except they will have a purple tie to match my bridesmaids. Charles is going to be wearing a darker gray than the grooms men, and no one's tie will be sticking out the bottom of their vest. I think it is kind of funny how all of the guys pictured below have such similar hair.  You won't see that at our wedding.

Registry Gift

We officially received our very first wedding present from our registry! Companies offer gifts for either registering for a specific amount of their product and/or having a specific amount of their product purchased for you off of your wedding registry.  I have sent in about 4 forms, that work just like rebates, to receive presents just for registering for items.  We got our first present in the mail this week and it is awesome!  It is the one I wanted the most so I am super happy I got it.

Just for putting $400 or maybe $500 worth of All-clad brand cookware on my registry we got a 3 piece odd-size measuring cup set.  There is a 2/3 cup, 3/4 cup, and 1 1/2 cup measuring cup.  And I have to say they are the highest quality measuring cups I have ever owned or even seen.  Their construction is on the same level as a nice stainless steel pot or pan.  I think I will have these for the rest of my life, provided I don't lose them somewhere along the way.

Bridesmaids "Bouquets"

I have been thinking about my bridesmaids recently, maybe because we just picked out our bridesmaid dresses for Melissa's wedding.  Anyway, I might have my bridesmaids hold clutches rather than bouquets.  At first I was think I would just have them hold a small bouquet (and they still might) but I really like how clutches look. They are very modern, useful and reusable. I initially saw the clutch below as a suggestions for a bridesmaid gift, but then I thought it would look nice as an alternative to a bouquet.
